Boston Pizza RDP Athlete of the Week for February 3, 2025

Dawson Leroux made an impact on the ice for the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Hockey team, contributing four goals and helping his squad pick up a pair of wins over the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings. In Friday’s 3-2 decision, Leroux scored twice on the power play. His second goal tied the game 2-2 at 14:43 of the middle frame. Leroux, a second-year forward from Lethbridge, was named the Kings Player of the Game.

Then in Saturday’s 5-2 home victory, he found the back of the net two more times, scoring the Kings’ third and fourth goals. The third tally turned out to be the game winning goal.

In 17 games, Leroux (Bachelor of Business Administration) has seven goals and 12 assists.

Next, Leroux and the third place Kings (11W-6L-2 OTL-1 SOL) will play the second seed Briercrest College Clippers (13W-4L-1 OTL-0 OTL) February 14 and 15.
