Fas Gas RDP Athlete of the Week for November 21, 2022
Goaltender Madison Fox has played in two games so far this season and has been a force to be reckon with in the net for the Queens. In her first game this season, she stopped 17 of 19 shots enroute to her first victory. A couple weeks later she topped that with an impressive .952 save-percentage that helped her team secure a 2-1 victory against the Lakeland Rustlers. But what was most impressive was she was able to stay on her game with only facing eight shots in the first two periods.
The Queens were badly outshot by the Rustlers, but Fox stood on her head and steered aside 13 of 14 shots in the third period. This was a big third period for Fox as it gave the Queens a win to finish off the first semester after dropping a double-overtime loss to Lakeland the night before. At the end of the first half, she has a 1.50 goals-against-average, a .925 save-percentage and a 2-0 record.
