Shootout Rodeo

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens Rodeo Team is proud to represent our institution in the Canadian Collegiate Rodeo Association (CCRA).

As we head into the 2026–27 season, we are excited to be hosting the first stop on the intercollegiate rodeo circuit.

In partnership with the Central Alberta Rodeo Team, this year we welcome over 200+ student-athletes, along with their families and supporters, from post-secondary institutions across Western Canada, including teams such as Olds College, Lakeland College, Northern Lights College, the University of Saskatchewan, and Southern Alberta Intercollegiate Rodeo Team.

Location: Benalto Ag Rodeo Grounds

This event serves as a high-energy kickoff to the season, highlighting top collegiate rodeo talent while bringing together a strong and supportive community.

In addition to the rodeo performances, we are excited to host a community Mutton Bustin’ event on Saturday, September 12 for children ages 5-7. This feature highlights the next generation of rodeo athletes and adds a fun, family-focused element to the weekend.
