Red Deer Polytechnic Athlete of the Week for October 25, 2021
Masoum Zaher was a stabilizing force on defence for the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Soccer team against the SAIT Trojans in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division final. Even though SAIT took the contest 3-0, the student-athlete from Red Deer made smart decisions and had a strong game positionally. It was a challenge to face the high powered Trojans’ offence, but the Open Studies student limited the potential of more SAIT scoring opportunities with a fundamentally sound performance.
Prior to this season, Zaher previously played eight games for the Kings in 2016/2017 and 10 games in 2014/2015.
On October 30, Zaher and the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings will challenge the Lakeland College Rustlers for conference bronze on the road at 3 pm.
