Boston Pizza RDP Athlete of the Week for October 28, 2024

This past weekend, Georgia Sawchuk was a key contributor to the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Cross Country Running team’s gold medal performance at the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Cross Country Running Championships in Calgary. Sawchuk (26:31), a Bachelor of Science in Psychology student, saved one of her best performances for when it mattered most, placing ninth with a determined effort.

The RDP Queens (40 points) eclipsed second place Lethbridge Polytechnic (51 points) by 11 points. The NAIT Ooks (64 points) sealed bronze.

Sawchuk and the RDP Queens will participate at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running National Championships hosted by the St. Clair College Saints in Windsor, Ontario on Saturday, November 9.
